Author: Gu Jingfang (Qing Dynasty)
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 1998-03-01
Features: This collection was compiled with the aim of preserving the literary heritage of the era and creating a specialized anthology of ci poems. At that time, following the turmoil of war, "classics were scattered and lost, with only a few remaining," yet the compiler extensively collected and preserved the literary works of the era, recording 605 ci poems and 216 authors. Their contribution is truly commendable. This book is one of the earliest extant anthologies of Ming Dynasty ci poems, and although there is no record of its printing date, there are prefaces written by Gu Jingfang and Hu Yingchen in the early Kangxi era at the beginning of the book. From this, we can deduce that the book was completed in the first year of the Kangxi reign (1662), and it was printed in the same year. The ci poems selected in this book are said to adhere to the standard of "elegant and concise," aiming to preserve the literary heritage of the era and create a specialized anthology of ci poems.
