What should I do if there is phimosis in my body?

Patient's question:

Since I was a child, I have remembered that my urethra often got inflamed. Back then, because I was young, I didn't take it seriously. Since entering puberty, I frequently experienced white discharge with urination and inflammation and redness of the glans penis, sometimes even to the extent that walking was hindered. Recently, the urethral opening often became inflamed and swollen, so I went to see a doctor. The result was a diagnosis of phimosis, which made me very worried.

Doctor's answer:

Phimosis and balanitis recur due to incomplete retraction of the foreskin during embryonic development, causing it to grow along with the body and tightly cover the glans, leading to phimosis. Poor personal hygiene results in the reappearance of smegma, causing adhesion between the glans and foreskin, which in turn leads to recurrent phimosis. If a phimosis patient maintains good penile hygiene, the condition will never recur. However, it is possible for issues such as penile pain during sexual activity or premature ejaculation to reappear.
