Features: As a core textbook for law schools in higher political and legal institutions, "Jurisprudence" has been well-received by students since its publication in 1999. This revision is based on the 2002 edition, maintaining the original features and chapter structure. The original authors were invited to revise their respective parts, incorporating current social changes, the needs of rule of law development, and the latest research findings. Special attention was given to adding recent important research findings in the notes section. In terms of formatting, the revision emphasizes the inclusion of learning objectives and requirements at the beginning of each chapter, guiding students to focus on key concepts or challenging content. Thought-provoking questions are provided at the end of each chapter to review and summarize the material. Additionally, recommended reading lists are included to help students expand their knowledge and further grasp fundamental theories and perspectives. The aim is to provide greater convenience for jurisprudence teaching. We are living in a great era of reform, where various ideologies and theories emerge alongside grand practices. As a foundational course and theoretical discipline, jurisprudence is particularly sensitive to changes in the times. Although we strive to better reflect the needs and changes of the present in this revision, due to limitations in our expertise and the profound transformations of the era, omissions and other shortcomings are inevitable. We welcome readers' feedback and corrections! At the same time, during the teaching and learning process, we hope that instructors and students can combine the fundamental principles of this textbook, fully utilize the notes and reference sections, broaden their horizons, engage in extensive reading, and deepen their reflections to ultimately enhance their theoretical literacy.
