Features: The mind gains sudden enlightenment and purification without realizing it. Zen Heart, the creative Buddha guiding life. Only the enlightened can turn life's lead into pure gold in an instant. — The Rubai Collection Only those with a harmonious mind can experience the harmony of nature; those with a chaotic heart will only find chaos around them. — Tagore If you are accustomed to wearing colored glasses, do not expect the world to look bright. — Eliot Zen is about "enlightenment," merely aiming to awaken the deaf and mute, and help the lost sheep become a little. But more Zen masters show sharp wit in their Q&A, making your mind twist and turn, and then suddenly finding enlightenment, a new perspective, and discovering truths previously unnoticed. This is the most commendable part of Zen, and something modern people still need to learn from. From a modern perspective, this lively and unconventional "alternative thinking" of Zen masters mostly belongs to the "lateral thinking" described by contemporary thinker De Bono—a mode of thinking that seeks solutions to difficult problems through non-traditional methods.
This book is divided into ten major sections based on the areas touched upon by Zen, including Thinking Cleansing, Cognitive Methods, Self-Understanding, Spiritual Liberation, Individuality, Overcoming Opposition, and Psychotherapy. Using materials such as Zen anecdotes, stories, and teachings, it extends and reflects, especially by comparing or cross-referencing with modern Western psychology, philosophy, and thinking studies. The aim is to provide readers with greater insights, a deeper understanding of the unique value of Chinese Zen, and inspiration and guidance for their life pursuits and physical and mental well-being.
