Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei Province in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction." Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school on virtue," forming a distinctive educational characteristic of "comprehensive development + special talents." It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, seeking refinement, seeking novelty, and seeking innovation." The outstanding performance in college entrance exams and competitions is an inevitable result of its long-term implementation of quality-oriented education and only one aspect of its abundant teaching achievements.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What is its ability to turn sand into a tower? What is its skill in transforming ordinary into extraordinary? These are questions I often hear. To think that Huanggang High School merely follows the (commanding baton) of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully grasp the intentions of test-setters and deeply understand their underlying principles, becoming a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students from doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop their abilities, and enhance their qualities through the process of solving them.
If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess profound scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic skills, and abundant teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching results, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of three series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School Middle School Entrance Exam Comprehensive Review." The series "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Questions" adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. Whether in open-ended or conventional problem types, the quantity and difficulty of the questions are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of the college entrance exams, we have positioned the first-round training questions as unit exercises, the second-round training questions as thematic exercises, and the third-round training questions as simulated tests. This allows us to comprehensively and progressively address the problems students encounter during the three rounds of review from three perspectives and levels.
Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part is newly supplemented based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions. This series is now compiled and published for the first time, making it publicly available.
This series also reflects the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate problem positioning: Based on the chronological order of the time periods, the problem arrangement focuses on reinforcing and improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods related to the exam content. The complexity and difficulty of the questions gradually advance toward the college entrance exams in a progressive manner.
2. Detailed problem-solving hints: The answers at the back of the book are appropriately detailed, with more in-depth solutions provided for difficult questions. The well-placed hints in the series sometimes play a pivotal role.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' questions, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
