Features: Huanggang High School, founded in 1904 in Huanggang, Hubei Province, was designated as a key high school in Hubei in 1953 and was awarded the title of "Advanced Unit in the National Education System" in 1986. In 2002, it was recognized as an "Advanced Unit in National Spiritual Civilization Construction."
Huanggang High School upholds the educational philosophy of "putting people first and establishing the school on virtue," forming the distinctive educational feature of "comprehensive development + special talents." It has explored a teaching style characterized by "seeking truth, striving for excellence, embracing diversity, and pursuing innovation." The outstanding achievements in college entrance exams and competitions are the inevitable results of its long-term implementation of quality education, and only represent one aspect of its abundant teaching outcomes.
When it comes to cultivating students, what magic formula does Huanggang High School possess? What ability does it have to turn sand into a tower? What skill does it have to turn stone into gold? These are questions I often hear. If one thinks that Huanggang High School merely follows the (command) of the college entrance exams and passively engages in test-taking, that is incorrect. Huanggang High School does not advocate rote memorization or passive problem-solving. If it has any exceptional qualities, it lies in its ability to fully understand the intentions of test-setters and deeply grasp their underlying principles, making it a leader rather than a blind follower.
Huanggang High School does not oppose teachers immersing themselves in a sea of problems but strongly advocates that students break free from it. It opposes students doing mechanical, simple, repetitive, and tedious exercises but requires them to complete necessary ones. We encourage students to engage in flexible and diverse problems with broad applications, allowing them to enrich their knowledge, develop skills, and enhance their qualities through the process of problem-solving.
If there is any other success Huanggang High School has achieved, it is that while cultivating and nurturing a large number of outstanding students, it has also forged its teaching staff, creating renowned master teachers in Hubei Province. These teachers possess deep scientific and cultural literacy, innovative educational concepts, unique teaching styles, artistic flair, and abundant teaching achievements.
To showcase the talents of Huanggang High School teachers and share their teaching outcomes, we have organized and carefully planned the writing of four series of books: "Huanggang High School Homework Books," "Huanggang High School Exam Papers," and "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials." The "Huanggang High School 2007 College Entrance Exam First and Second Round Training Materials" series adopts a "full simulation" format to highlight its features. The number and difficulty of both open-ended and conventional problems are designed to closely align with the college entrance exams, emphasizing innovation and practicality.
Targeting the different time periods and characteristics of the first, second, and third rounds of college entrance exam preparation, we have positioned the first-round training materials as unit exercises, the second-round training materials as thematic exercises, and the third-round training materials as simulated exams. This allows for a comprehensive, progressive solution to the problems students encounter during the third round of preparation from three perspectives and three levels.
Part of the content of this series is derived from internal teaching materials and exchanges with friendly schools, while the other part consists of newly updated materials based on recent changes in college entrance exam questions. These materials are now compiled and published for the first time.
This series also reflects the following writing philosophy and features:
1. Appropriate exercise positioning: Based on the sequence of time periods, the arrangement of exercises in this series focuses on reinforcing and gradually improving the knowledge points, question types, and methods associated with them. The complexity and difficulty of the exercises are designed to progressively approach the level of the college entrance exams.
2. Detailed solution hints: The answers at the end of the book are appropriately detailed, with more thorough explanations provided for difficult problems. The well-placed hints in the series often play a pivotal role.
This series emphasizes the originality and quality of the authors' questions, with rigorous review and proofreading at every stage, striving to become a unique gem in the educational supplement market.
