Features: Socrates' beliefs, wit, demeanor, and statements are the benchmarks Fu Peirong has dedicated his life to emulating. Through him, we appreciate the humanistic charm of Athens and the free spirit of the lovers of wisdom. What was his inner journey? How could he, when facing an unjust trial, maintain a consistently warm and steady tone and say, "Today you are judging me, but in the future, history will judge you!" In Fu Peirong's portrayal, Socrates slowly emerges from history, standing at the corner of the street to chat with you and me, igniting a torch in a relaxed atmosphere to illuminate the process of human self-awareness through the pursuit of wisdom. This book is one of the "Meet the Masters" series, available in both Chinese and English, suitable for leisure reading by middle and high school students, as well as for English learning as supplementary material.
