Is sperm not liquefying after half an hour a sign of infertility?

Patient's question:

Thank you for your answer: I would like to ask, if sperm does not liquefy within half an hour, is it infertility or subfertility? Does not liquefying mean unable to get pregnant? Then how should it be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, after normal semen is expelled outside the body, under the action of coagulase secreted by the seminal vesicles, it becomes thick and jelly-like. Within 10 to 20 minutes after ejaculation, it liquefies under the action of fibrinolysin secreted by the prostate, becoming relatively thin. The liquefaction time is less than 30 minutes. Liquefaction abnormality refers to the phenomenon where semen fails to completely liquefy at least 30 minutes after ejaculation or does not begin to liquefy until more than an hour has passed. It includes incomplete liquefaction of semen and delayed liquefaction of semen, which are commonly referred to as incomplete liquefaction of semen.
