Features: After the 2006 local middle school entrance examination (MSEE) ended, experts from the new MSEE research group conducted a thorough analysis and summary of over 100 sets of exam papers from various regions. Based on this, they referred to the opinions of evaluation experts for the national new curriculum academic exams and MSEE participating in question-setting and grading from various regions. After selecting about 20 sets of the most representative questions, they invited regional MSEE experts to explain the answers and compiled this book. Since its publication in 2004, this book has consistently ranked first on the best-selling supplementary teaching materials list of "Kaijuan" (Open the Book), receiving praise from readers and attention from newspapers, websites, and other multimedia platforms. Every year, it is recommended by teaching and research sections, schools, and teachers in Beijing, Shanxi, Hunan, and other regions as essential practice materials for Grade 9 students during summer and winter vacations and for MSEE preparation. Many readers have also expressed their gratitude and anticipation through emails and phone calls.
With the trust of numerous teachers, parents, and candidates, and supported by a strong group of experts, we improved the 2007 edition of the book. First, we supplemented detailed explanations and hints for the answers. Second, the selection process involved repeated deliberation and evaluation, skillfully arranging the questions to best suit candidates' study habits. Therefore, the experts and teachers involved in the selection and explanation of this book demonstrated great responsibility and enthusiasm, which put us under unprecedented pressure. We were afraid that any negligence might affect the candidates' preparation and fail to live up to the trust placed in "Tianli 38 Sets." For this reason, all members of the book's writing team remained vigilant and strived to make the revised edition as helpful as possible to candidates in their studies and preparation.
In 2007, the MSEE in new curriculum experimental areas will be promoted in most regions across the country. Experts agree that the MSEE will follow the relevant opinions and spirit of the Ministry of Education, adhere to the curriculum standards, and feature more diverse subjects, formats, time durations, score distributions, content requirements, and question types, closely linking to real-life situations. Innovative, exploratory, and open-ended questions requiring candidates to flexibly apply their knowledge to analyze and solve problems will become more common, and MSEE question-setting in various regions will become more standardized and scientific.
Based on these characteristics, candidates are required not only to practice with their local MSEE papers but also to do more questions from other regions and familiarize themselves with various question formats to the greatest extent possible, which will help them master the basic assessment content and requirements. As long as candidates study according to the Ministry of Education's MSEE opinions, curriculum standards, and the assessment content and requirements of their local regions, and firmly grasp foundational knowledge and comprehensive abilities, they can confidently face any MSEE format.
It should be noted that:
1. All questions selected in this book comply with curriculum reform requirements and are suitable for candidates in all provinces and cities across the country.
2. To help candidates become familiar with various exam formats, we have carefully considered the diversity of the selected questions.
3. To provide a deeper understanding of the question-setting trends in each subject, we have included representative questions from 2005 and 2004 for reference and learning.
4. Considering that more regions have just entered the new MSEE, we have selected 1–3 sets of non-experimental area tests with the most distinctive features of the new MSEE to help candidates smoothly transition.
5. Readers can discuss the book's content with relevant experts and teachers in the "Reader's Refueling Station" on Beijing Tianli Examination Information Network (www.TL100.com) and obtain free new MSEE information, questions, and other resources.
