Features: "The English Major Band 4 Test Historical(1998-2006)" is published by China Foreign Languages Press. Under the continuous standardization and vigorous promotion by the National Advisory Committee on English Majors in Higher Education, China's English proficiency level testing system has been implemented in universities for over a decade. It has played a significant positive role in promoting and facilitating the teaching practice and reform of English majors in various institutions, receiving praise and support from English teachers nationwide. Over the past few years, I have been engaged in teaching English majors, naturally forming an inseparable bond with the Band 4 and Band 8 English proficiency tests. Many students have expressed a desire for a book with detailed test paper explanations to aid in preparation, but such a book has never been available on the market. It was in this context that I conceived the idea of writing this book. During the writing process, I consistently planned the problem-solving approach from the perspective of test-takers, organizing the content accordingly. For those questions that can be answered effortlessly, the book keeps it concise. For those that require more thought, it provides thorough explanations to help students understand not only what the answers are but also why they are correct. For this reason, the book not only presents correct solutions but also frequently explains incorrect ones. In the process of explanation, I have intentionally incorporated many relevant grammar and vocabulary concepts, introducing some effective reading, writing, and translation techniques. Therefore, this book serves not only as a test paper explanation guide but also as a self-study resource for advanced English learners. I believe this will greatly benefit readers in improving their English proficiency. Due to my limited expertise and the haste in completing the book, it is inevitable that there may be areas for discussion or even errors. I sincerely welcome readers' criticism and corrections.
