Features: Design graphics is a discipline dedicated to the study, exploration, and creation of design and technical drawings. This book will explain the significance and tasks of design graphics, introduce drawing tools and their selection and use, and selectively highlight national standards for drafting based on the needs of design professionals. It also covers fundamental knowledge of projection methods, projection drawings of points, lines, surfaces, and their relative positions, as well as the projections of basic geometric solids. In the current context where reforms in design and art education curricula have not yet been implemented top-down or bottom-up, and where higher education has not yet undertaken bold, forward-looking reforms, using textbook development to align course content with practical societal needs, keep pace with the times, and adapt to issues within the curriculum system is a reasonable and effective approach. Especially in the face of an overwhelming flood of textbooks, teaching materials, and even so-called specialized works, this is particularly necessary and holds significance as a bridge between past and future. For this reason, Hunan University Press organized experts and scholars from nearly 30 institutions across the country to compile this series of textbooks over nearly two years. The primary goal is to promote the healthy development of design and art through the compilation and publication of these textbooks. To achieve this, experts were organized twice for deliberations to determine the types of textbooks, aiming to establish a teaching material system that aligns with the times and the advancement of the discipline. After repeated refinement, 26 textbooks were selected as the foundational materials for design and art education. This series of textbooks strives to highlight three key features: a distinct design perspective—reflecting modern design characteristics, market-oriented, and international trends; a strong sense of the times—new concepts, new content, new materials, and examples; and outstanding practicality—emphasizing the practical and applied aspects of design disciplines while focusing on teaching needs.
