Features: With the development of China's economic construction, the demand for technical application talents in society has become increasingly urgent. This has also driven the rapid growth of vocational education in China, which has now entered a stable, sustainable, and orderly development phase. To adapt to the societal demand for technical talents and the advancement of vocational education, the Ministry of Education has implemented effective reforms in vocational education. The Ministry, along with the Department of Vocational Education and the Department of Higher Education, has issued updated catalogs for the professional settings of secondary vocational education and higher vocational education, providing a basis for the establishment of vocational professional settings. The Ministry, in collaboration with five other ministries and commissions, has identified four professional fields—numerical control technology application, computer application and software technology, automotive application and maintenance, and nursing—as critical fields for cultivating talent in shortage. Over a thousand higher vocational and secondary vocational schools, as well as enterprises, have been selected as demonstration training units, with dedicated funding allocated for support, aiming to cultivate a group of high-practicality talent in shortage.
