Features: The subject Olympiad for primary and secondary schools (referred to as the subject Olympiad) is one of the most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competitions for primary and secondary school students in China. The subject Olympiad draws inspiration from and extends the concept of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential subject competitions for secondary school students, which attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such widespread attention lies in the Olympiad's strong emphasis on innovation, flexibility, comprehensiveness, and the cultivation of students' exploration skills and the inspiration of their innovative awareness, which are precisely the core elements of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on meticulous research over many years on this activity both domestically and internationally, as well as a large number of outstanding books in this category, the Editorial Board of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to sequentially compile and publish a series of Olympiad reading materials titled "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School," covering a total of over 200 varieties in seven subjects: mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics. In terms of the variety, quantity, and quality of our Olympiad books, they are considered the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing to primary and secondary school teachers and students. The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiad" and "Golden Medal School" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from the curriculum but exceeding it. Derived from the curriculum means referring to the new [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education; exceeding the curriculum means closely aligning with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, thereby fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
2. Accurate: Scientifically precise and well-structured. Each book is designed hierarchically according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a progressive principle, offering in-depth yet accessible analysis and comprehensive, detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: The questions selected are novel, unique, and highly engaging. They gather the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both domestically and internationally, representing the highest level of current Olympiad standards, reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform and the latest ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Exquisite: Carefully selected examples are challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and attainable. The focus is on generalization and transferability; multiple solutions, variations, and extensions of a single problem are emphasized. Emphasis is placed on training thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: A gathering of distinguished teachers and a collection of elite competitions. The Editorial Board of the Subject Olympiad for Primary and Secondary Schools has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, special-grade teachers, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to jointly compile the books.
