Author: Wang Shen-gen, Editor-in-Chief

Publish Date: 2005-07-01
Features: This collection includes 75 classic cases, which are selected from more than 500 cases submitted from all over the country. These cases involve new curriculum experimental textbooks such as the People's Education Press, Beijing Normal University Press, Education Press, Beijing Edition, Hubei Edition, Language Edition, and Jiangsu Education Press. The case content includes four major categories: Pinyin, Literacy, Reading, and Oral Communication. Some cases are presented in the form of classroom recordings, while others are teaching plans for a single class period, and some are complete classroom teaching implementation plans. Each case is followed by a "Case Appreciation," written either by the case author themselves or by another author who provides an analysis of the case. The length and detail of the text vary. Additionally, the presentation of the cases is not entirely uniform. For example, in terms of teaching objectives, some still follow the traditional approach of listing them as "1, 2, 3, 4," while others refer to the curriculum standards and divide teaching objectives into three dimensions: "Knowledge and Skills," "Process and Methods," and "Affective Attitudes and Values." The reason this book does not standardize these aspects is mainly to respect the authors' different interpretations of the new curriculum, showcase individuality, and reflect the authenticity of teaching and the authors' genuine understanding as objectively and plainly as possible. It is reasonable to say that these cases are a brilliant microcosm of China's current basic education curriculum reform, a colorful and pleasing landscape of the new curriculum.
