Features: This book is divided into the following sections: Expert Reviews, Specialized Tests, Comprehensive Tests, Answers, Audio Scripts, Vocabulary List, and Common Verb Phrases. The Expert Reviews are written from the perspective of teachers with years of experience in English foundation education, summarizing and analyzing the problems students encountered in various sections of the TEM4 exam from 1992 to 2004. Based on these issues, targeted suggestions and strategies are provided. The Specialized Tests include the items from the 2004 revised TEM4 syllabus scheduled to be implemented in 2005. They are: dictation, listening comprehension, cloze, grammar and vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing. The dictation section provides ten short passages of various themes, accompanied by audio tapes. The changes in the 2004 revised TEM4 syllabus for listening comprehension are the most significant. Long conversations and short passages have replaced the previous exam's single sentences and short dialogues. Therefore, this book carefully selects exercises on long conversations and short passages to address these changes. The news section includes VOA and BBC news from the past six months, all accompanied by audio tapes. The cloze section provides ten passages of various themes. The grammar and vocabulary sections each offer 150 multiple-choice questions, covering the requirements for grammar and vocabulary as outlined in the 2000 edition of the "Teaching Syllabus for College English Majors (TEM4)." The reading comprehension section has removed the rapid reading section. This part provides fifty-five articles, categorized by themes such as society, science and technology, personalities, culture, education, and art. While practicing reading comprehension, students can also expand their background knowledge and develop their English sense. For writing, ten and fourteen essays and notes of various types are provided, along with sample notes.
