Features: Galileo was a great Italian physicist and astronomer. He was diligent and intelligent from a young age. After being sent to the University of Pisa to study medicine by his father, his interests lay in mathematics and physics. During his time at home, he studied hard, made numerous inventions and wrote high-quality papers. For this, he was appointed as a mathematics professor at the University of Pisa. Three years later, he went to the University of Padua to teach, while also conducting scientific research, eventually becoming the chief scientist of the Tuscany court. Galileo was a pioneer in classical mechanics and experimental physics. Through personal experiments, he established the law of falling bodies, discovered the law of inertia, the law of resultant forces, the isochronism of pendulum vibrations, and the laws of projectile motion. He also proposed the principle of relativity of motion and made rigorous definitions of fundamental kinematic concepts such as velocity and acceleration. Galileo also made significant contributions to astronomy. He built an astronomical telescope and used it to observe celestial bodies, achieving numerous results. He observed mountains and valleys on the moon, four satellites of Jupiter, sunspots, the Milky Way as a system composed of countless stars, and the phases of Venus and Mercury, among other discoveries. These major astronomical findings by Galileo were hailed as the "Columbus of the sky."
