Features: To regulate the work of applying for master's degrees based on equivalent academic standing and ensure the quality of degree conferment, the 16th meeting of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee decided to introduce the National Unified Examination for Comprehensive Academic Level in Equivalent Academic Standing for Master's Degree Applicants. Starting from September 1, 1999, individuals applying for master's degrees based on equivalent academic standing must obtain the "Certificate of Qualification for the National Unified Examination for Comprehensive Academic Level" in their respective disciplines, which serves as a prerequisite for obtaining the master's degree. The purpose of the Comprehensive Academic Level Examination is to strengthen the macro-control and standardized management of the conferment of master's degrees to individuals with equivalent academic standing, and it is an important component of the national assessment of the professional knowledge structure and level of applicants for master's degrees. In 1998, experts were organized to compile and publish the "Outline and Guide for the National Unified Examination for Comprehensive Academic Level in History for Applicants with Equivalent Academic Standing." Over the past five years, based on suggestions from a large number of candidates and relevant experts, we have revised this book carefully on the basis of summarizing the experience of recent years' unified examinations. The revised outline (Second Edition) will serve as the basis for unified question-setting for the Comprehensive Academic Level Examination in history for master's degree applicants in the coming years, providing reference materials for universities and colleges in teaching and tutoring, as well as for candidates in reviewing and preparing for the exam.
