Features: Since its publication in 2001, the book "Towards Famous Schools—Comprehensive Review of Primary School Chinese" has been widely favored by students and parents for its systematic and comprehensive knowledge delivery, innovative and unique teaching methods, and precise and targeted exercise training. Many teachers have also chosen it as a supplementary teaching material for advanced studies. After using this book, students have shown significant improvements in their Chinese scores and overall language proficiency, with many entering renowned junior high schools. As a result, the book has been continuously reprinted over the years to meet the growing demand of readers.
With the deepening of educational reform and the implementation of new curriculum standards, the learning objectives have evolved from flat knowledge acquisition to a three-dimensional space: knowledge and skills, processes and methods, and attitudes and values. Against this backdrop, competition for comprehensive student development has intensified, and the pressure of school selection and admission has become an undeniable reality. To assist primary school graduates in comprehensive review and meet the urgent needs of teachers, parents, and students, we have combined years of research and practical experience in bridging the gap between primary and secondary education. We have conducted a thorough revision of the book "Towards Famous Schools—Comprehensive Review of Primary School Chinese." The purpose of this revision is to adapt to the new educational landscape, stimulate students' interest in learning, help them build a solid foundation, cultivate their learning abilities, promote their intellectual development, and comprehensively enhance their competencies and competitive edge. This will prepare them with the necessary knowledge reserves and intellectual training to enter their ideal renowned junior high schools.
The revision follows the principles of "fewer, more refined, flexible, and innovative," and the revised book is divided into six major sections: Text Analysis, Sentence Enhancement, Reading Training, Writing Guidance, Comprehensive Quality Improvement, and Mock Exam Papers. The first five sections include the following sub-sections:
- Key Knowledge Points: Organizes and categorizes scattered knowledge, refining it into a structured and systematic framework.
- Detailed Example Analysis (Example Text Analysis): Focuses on key points and critical aspects, providing typical examples to reveal problem-solving approaches, methods, and patterns, forming a knowledge network.
- Method Highlights: Guides learning methods, deepens understanding, and broadens perspectives, benefiting students lifelong.
- Key Point Practice: Features representative, practical, and open-ended question types to broaden students' horizons, stimulate their thinking, promote comprehensive understanding, and enhance their ability to analyze and solve problems.
Compared to the original book, the revised version features the following enhancements:
1. Adjusted and updated the knowledge system to make it more organized and aligned with students' cognitive patterns.
2. Emphasizes guidance on methods and processes to cultivate students' independent learning and practical skills.
3. Places special emphasis on the acquisition of students' Chinese proficiency. We have completely replaced the non-Chinese learning content in the original book's "Comprehensive Quality Improvement" section (such as English, art, and music) with content that enhances Chinese proficiency, such as "Accumulation and Application," "Oral Communication," and "Integrated Learning." This not only makes the book more professional but also serves as a powerful tool for teachers and students to seize the advantage in Chinese learning and exam preparation.
