Vocabulary is the foundation and key of English learning. The breadth and depth of vocabulary that English learners master will directly affect their English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. To help intermediate and advanced English learners master the fundamental English vocabulary, we have specially compiled this English-Chinese/Chinese-English Mini Dictionary. This dictionary consists of two parts: English-Chinese and Chinese-English.
I. English-Chinese Section:
The selection of English entries in this section is primarily based on the vocabulary specified in the New College English Teaching Syllabus issued by the Ministry of Education, while also referring to the vocabulary listed in the secondary school English teaching syllabus. Each entry includes the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), part of speech, Chinese translation, typical examples with their Chinese translations, common phrases, and derived words. The content is accurate and clear, making it easy to consult and learn.
II. Chinese-English Section:
This section mainly includes common vocabulary used in daily life, as well as some new words, aiming to make it highly practical. Since most of the selected vocabulary in this book are the most fundamental and commonly used words in English learning, it is suitable for intermediate and advanced learners at the junior high, senior high, and first/second-year university levels as a dictionary, as well as for students preparing for exams such as the College English Test Band 4/6 (CET), TOEFL, and IELTS as a vocabulary memorization guide.
