Features: Surgery is the main means of surgical treatment for diseases, and surgical science is an important component of surgery. The success of surgery is closely related to the life and safety of the patient. With the development of science and the advancement of diagnostic and treatment techniques, the scope of surgical treatment for diseases has been continuously expanding, surgical operation techniques have undergone many changes and innovations, and many new surgical methods have emerged. Traditional surgical methods have also been modified. Although there are many types of surgical procedures, with varying sizes, complexities, and levels of difficulty in operation, all types of surgery cannot be separated from basic operations such as incision, exposure, hemostasis, ligation, and suture. All surgical procedures must adhere to the principle of sterility and must have satisfactory anesthesia as a guarantee. For this reason, we have rewritten the "Experimental Lecture Notes on Surgical Science" edited by the Department of Surgery of Zunyi Medical College, based on the first and second editions, refining the characteristics of animal surgery, adding key points of human anatomy, operational steps, intraoperative and postoperative precautions, hoping to be beneficial to the future clinical work of medical students. When medical students study surgery, they must also study surgical science textbooks to help with the increasingly demanding teaching tasks. The content is designed to be easy to understand and illustrated with images, with as many pictures and annotations as possible to facilitate students' practical operations. However, due to the limited level of our understanding and practice, and given that we are in an era of rapid technological development, the theories and techniques that we currently consider correct and feasible may show shortcomings after a period of writing and publication, and when presented to readers. We sincerely welcome readers' criticism and corrections.
