Publish Date: 2005-07-01
Features: This book is compiled based on the author's long-term teaching and research experience in the graduate course "Advanced Engineering Thermodynamics." The entire book follows the main themes of energy utilization and energy conservation, dividing it into four parts to introduce various thermodynamic analysis methods for energy systems, including finite-time thermodynamics, exergy (availability) analysis, energy level analysis, thermoeconomics, and pinch technology, as well as their applications in engineering practice. Throughout the book, a section is included to strengthen the fundamental theories and basic knowledge of this discipline. It covers basic concepts, fundamental laws, and basic research methods in thermodynamics, with finite-time thermodynamics organized organically within this section. In the second part, the exergy analysis method is elaborated, with exergy-related energy level analysis placed in this section, and a detailed discussion is provided on the unavoidable exergy losses. The third part not only introduces the principles of thermoeconomics but also, tailored to the characteristics of science and engineering graduate students, dedicates more attention to the engineering economics aspects of microeconomics. In the fourth part, given the extensive content and strong practicality of pinch technology, as a thermodynamic method, only the key aspects are covered. This book can serve as a graduate textbook for energy, power, and chemical engineering majors in higher education institutions, as well as a reference for senior undergraduate students and engineering professionals in related fields.
