Features: In our era, describing a man as handsome is not disrespectful, but rather a full expression of admiration. Because my love for the character Abe no Seimei portrayed by Manjiro Nomura is indescribable, I began to write fictional stories related to that character. Then, because I couldn’t tell whether I liked the character or the actor, I returned to the warmth of human relationships after writing ghost stories set in the Heian period. The single-chapter stories follow the original style of Onmyoji, while the double-chapter stories turned into my own one-sided, narrative essays. That diligent, admirable, and beautiful traditional artist is the entire driving force behind my long story. Finally, what’s important is, thank you, Manjiro Nomura and the Abe no Seimei of Nomura—you made me fall into a youthful obsession that had long been absent. Yet, I still remain as delighted as a teenager.
