Features: Flower-and-bird painting is a very important part of Chinese painting. For various reasons, masters were reluctant to reveal their unique skills, and students could only observe their teachers at work or listen to their teachings, with most learning relying on self-study. Therefore, good reference materials were crucial. The main method of learning Chinese painting is copying, and a single Jieziyuan Huaspu (The Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting) has influenced many painters. After mastering the techniques of Chinese painting, observation and sketching from life are also essential. Only by continuously learning from nature can one create good works, so it is said in painting theory: "Learn from contemporary masters and study the ancients, but learning from the ancients is not as good as learning from nature."
