Features: Art education is an important content and approach for schools to implement aesthetic education. Art education plays an irreplaceable role compared to other subjects. It is a powerful means to subtly improve students' moral standards, cultivate noble sentiments, and promote the development of intelligence, physical health, and mental well-being. Academic art education has a special function in cultivating the innovative spirit and practical abilities of 21st-century builders. "Art Appreciation" is a main component of school art education. It guides students to broadly engage with outstanding cultural heritage of humanity and contemporary excellent artistic achievements, enhancing their art appreciation skills while more comprehensively grasping the rich content reflected by art. This helps students gain a more complete and profound understanding of social reality and develop healthy art evaluation abilities.
Commissioned by the Shanghai Vocational and Technical Education Curriculum Reform and Textbook Development Committee, in line with the requirements of modern vocational education and the training objectives of secondary vocational schools, we have compiled the "Art Appreciation" textbook for secondary vocational schools, focusing on the comprehensive development of students' qualities. This series of textbooks is divided into four volumes: Music, Fine Arts, Dance, and Theatre, Film, and Television. Each volume has a minimum teaching time of (9+9) hours, with a total teaching time of (36+36) hours.
