Features: The Jinghu, originally known as Huqin, belongs to the category of chordophones. It is named after its role as the primary accompaniment instrument in Peking Opera. This ancient ethnic instrument, which originated from the Western Regions and was initially obscure, was adopted by Peking Opera over 200 years ago. Through the relentless efforts of generations of Jinghu players, it has developed its crisp, bright, and playful characteristics, as well as its unique Peking-style charm, becoming a key figure in the evolution of Peking Opera music. With the same structure, it also serves as the main accompaniment instrument for other local operas such as Han Opera and Xiang Opera. However, the Jinghu has a profound influence both domestically and internationally and boasts a wide fan base. This book is divided into two parts. The first part primarily introduces the basic knowledge and techniques of the Jinghu. The second part focuses on accompaniment practice, selecting several commonly used Peking Opera tunes and basic board-style aria passages, providing accompaniment scores with bowing techniques and performance tips, supplemented by (demonstration recordings), enabling Jinghu learners to grasp the fundamental techniques of Jinghu playing more quickly.
