"New narrative theory" refers to the classical or postmodern narrative theories in the West since the 1990s, which reflect, innovate, and surpass structuralist narratology. In recent ten years, the translations published domestically have primarily been classical narrative theories by Western scholars from the 1970s to the 1980s, leaving the field of new narrative theory untouched. This series aims to help fill this gap. The first five translations in the series represent the essence of new narrative theory, showcasing its diverse research schools, offering novel perspectives, depth, and distinctive features. This series is an important supplement and development to the Western classical narrative theories already introduced in China, providing excellent references for expanding thinking and deepening research.
