Features: Flower-and-bird painting is a category in traditional Chinese painting that holds the most typical significance in terms of aesthetic characteristics and formal styles. It has a long history, a well-ordered inheritance, and has achieved great success. However, in the course of historical evolution and societal changes, contemporary Chinese flower-and-bird painting is facing intense transformation. Overall, the current state of flower-and-bird painting is the same as that of Chinese painting as a whole, undergoing a transitional period of inheritance, development, and a shift from classical to modern forms. During this period, flower-and-bird painters, based on their own understanding of tradition and modernity, are exploring new paths for the development of flower-and-bird painting with their unique artistic languages. Qiu Jìmù is one of them. The achievements he has made in his exploration have already attracted attention from the art world and critics. Of course, Qiu Jìmù's modern flower-and-bird painting did not come into being overnight. It is the result of the author's continuous practice and reflection on his modest traditional flower-and-bird painting. This art collection primarily promotes the artist's "Circle Light System" works, which possess a unique style and distinct artistic personality. From them, we can roughly discern Qiu Jìmù's evolutionary trajectory and artistic pursuits in modern flower-and-bird painting creation.
