This collection revolves around the purpose of revitalizing the agricultural economy and serving the "agriculture, rural areas, and farmers" (Nong-San). The series is divided into multiple sub-series, including introductory, popular, and advanced levels, employing various writing styles such as declarative, Q&A, chart-based, and illustrated () formats to categorically introduce productive cultivation techniques for grain crops, economic crops, fruit trees, vegetables, as well as pest and disease control methods in animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, aquaculture, and agricultural product processing. The entire collection is innovative, effective in measures, practical in methods, and aims to make it easy for readers to understand, learn, and apply immediately. It is hoped that the publication of this collection will play a significant role in promoting agricultural production, revitalizing the rural economy, and helping farmers escape poverty and achieve prosperity.
To adapt to the development of watermelon production and meet the needs of farmers seeking to achieve wealth through growing watermelons, the book "New Techniques in Watermelon Production" was compiled by four watermelon researchers from the Horticulture Research Institute of the Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, including Deputy Researcher Li Wenxin. The book systematically introduces the growth and developmental habits of watermelon plants, the factors contributing to watermelon yield, new watermelon varieties, conventional watermelon cultivation techniques, seedless watermelon cultivation techniques, red-seeded watermelon cultivation techniques, grafted watermelon cultivation techniques, methods for propagating original seeds and hybrid seed production, as well as the control of major pests and diseases in watermelons. The book is divided into nine parts, with rich, systematic, and comprehensive content, featuring advanced technical measures and strong practicality, written in plain and easy-to-understand language. This book is a summary of long-term research, experimentation, and production practices by researchers, representing the integration of watermelon research and production practices. It is suitable for watermelon researchers, faculty and students of agricultural colleges, rural technical personnel, as well as () and specialized watermelon farmers. It can also serve as a reference textbook for secondary agricultural vocational schools, higher agricultural colleges, and watermelon cultivation technology training classes.
