Features: This standard replaces HG2941—1999 "Feed Grade Choline Chloride." Compared to HG2941—1999, the main changes are as follows:
---
- Merged Part I and Part II (1999 edition's Part I, Part II, and this edition's Chapters 3, 4, 5, 6).
- Revised the content indicators for 50% and 60% choline chloride powders from ≥50.0% and ≥60.0% to ≥50% and ≥60% (1999 edition's 8.2, this edition's 3.4).
- Modified the pH value indicator for liquid products from 6.5–8.0 to 6.0–8.0 (1999 edition's 4.2, this edition's 3.4), and removed "precise test paper determination" from the test methods (1999 edition's 5.3, this edition's 4.4).
- Changed the trimethylamine content in liquid products to total free amines/oxygen [calculated as (CH3)3N] content (1999 edition's 4.2, this edition's 3.4); added total free amines/oxygen [calculated as (CH3)3N] content for powders (see 3.4); revised the test method from picric acid colorimetric method to Kjeldahl distillation nitrogen determination (1999 edition's 5.5, this edition's 4.6).
- Added hexamethylenetetramine identification test (see 4.2).
- Added heavy metal indicators and test methods for powders (see 3.4 and 4.8).
- Revised the test method for choline chloride content to ion chromatography (arbitration method) and Ray's salt gravimetry (see 4.3.1 and 4.3.2).
- Changed the test sieve aperture for fineness determination from 80 μm to 850 μm (1999 edition's 8.2, this edition's 3.4).
- Modified all items as factory inspection items to all items as type inspection items. The factory inspection items for liquid products are choline chloride content, pH value, and total free amines/oxygen [calculated as (CH3)3N] content; the factory inspection items for powder products are 3.3, choline chloride content, total free amines/oxygen [calculated as (CH3)3N] content, drying loss, heavy metal (Pb) content, and fineness (1999 edition's 6.1 and 10.1, this edition's 5.1).
- Deleted Appendix A (informative appendix) — Silver volumetric method (1999 edition's Appendix A).
This standard was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.
This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Organic Sub-Committee of the National Chemical Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC63/SC2).
