Features: Within the field of painting and modeling, sketching and sketch teaching is a highly significant and enduring subject. Today, the teaching of realistic sketching systems remains one of the most important courses in China's higher art institutions. Sketching is recognized as a means to study forms and accumulate modeling knowledge in painting, excluding color, all factors in a composition fall under the realm of sketching research. Therefore, the elements and principles of modeling, the methods and techniques of modeling, and the awareness and concepts of modeling will undoubtedly permeate the entire process of sketching teaching. As a result, sketching and sketch teaching have always been highly valued and emphasized. Practical experience shows that the improvement of sketching teaching quality relies on a comprehensive teaching concept and standardized practices. Solid and substantial basic training is the foundation for an artist's success. Comprehensively enhancing modeling skills and refining personal cultivation are the keys to an artist's achievement. Art is constantly evolving, and people's aesthetic awareness and tendencies are changing with the times. The path should be broad, and methods should be diverse; no method or style can be considered the only one. Modeling training should be comprehensive and creative. This sketchbook collection gathers the finest works of teachers from higher art institutions. In terms of the range of works included, it aims to complement the already published book "Sketching" by Southwest Normal University Press. It comprehensively covers the entire sketching teaching program, from still life, landscapes, and plaster sculptures to headshots, half-body portraits, figures, clothed full-body portraits, as well as creative and experimental sketches. This sketchbook not only showcases the overall content of sketching teaching but also fully reflects the emphasis on foundational sketching instruction while highlighting the necessary cultural and artistic standards. Strengthening positive and in-depth thinking and pursuit allows for the transformation of visual thinking training from the superficial to the substantial, from the basic to the advanced, ultimately achieving artistic elevation. This is the core challenge facing modern sketching teaching. The comments and annotations in the sketchbook are the natural expressions of the authors' rich teaching experiences and outstanding creative practices. They are not a one-sided perspective but possess profound depth and broad vision. In addition to reflecting a systematic content, diverse techniques and styles, and a high volume of information, they fully demonstrate the authors' solid modeling skills and remarkable high-level artistic cultivation. Therefore, it is an invaluable sketchbook for readers to reference and study. Practice enhances skills, and knowledge elevates personal quality. In today's environment where sketchbooks and similar collections are abundant, this sketchbook hopes to inspire the expansion of your visual space and artistic thinking!
