Features: Yan Yu's Canglang Poetic Discourses is a work that uses Zen Buddhism to illustrate poetry, emphasizing its form and artistic qualities. Since the form and artistic qualities of poetry are also important issues in poetics, it has had a significant influence on later poetic theories and the creative works of certain poets. At the same time, because the author's arguments have a tendency toward subjective idealism, while it has had a considerable impact, it has also attracted considerable criticism and attacks. It has now been compiled for the reference of researchers working on classical Chinese poetry and literary theory. Canglang Poetic Discourses is included in Canglang Yin, with the author claiming to have seen a Song Dynasty edition; Mu Dumu of the Ming Dynasty reprinted Canglang Mr. Yin, also mentioning an Yuan Dynasty edition. Since neither the Song nor Yuan editions are available today, they are set aside for discussion. The other versions are primarily based on Shuo Fuji and Jindai Shuxue, two widely circulated editions. Most subsequent reprinted editions fall within these three versions. However, these three versions actually originate from the same source and have little difference. The annotations and explanations are partly based on old drafts, originally written in classical Chinese, and though revised, they may not be entirely refined. For the sake of consistency, even this annotation and explanation cannot avoid some colloquial classical Chinese, which the author must apologize for to the readers.
