Scriabin Piano Etudes 26 (Audio Version ( CD))

Author: [US] Scriabin, Qian Yiping
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-05-01
Features: Scriabin's etudes are a continuation of Chopin's etudes and Liszt's etudes. The left-hand techniques are highly challenging, yet he ingeniously integrates technical training into moving musical phrases, making it seem as though the works were not written solely for "finger practice." The accompanying CD provides students with valuable performance references. Scriabin wrote a total of twenty-six piano etudes, divided into six opus numbers: Op. 2 No. 1 (composed on April 1, 1887, published by the publisher Peter Ivanovich Yudensson in 1893), Op. 8 (twelve etudes, composed in 1894-1895, published by the publisher Mitrofan Petrovich Beriaev in autumn 1895), Op. 42 (eight etudes, composed in 1903, published by Beriaev in 1904), Op. 49 No. 1 (composed in 1905, published by Beriaev in 1906), Op. 56 No. 4 (composed in 1908, published by Beriaev the same year), and Op. 65 (three etudes, composed from July 21 to August 3, 1912, published by Yudensson in the same year).
