Features: This set of art foundation books is divided into four volumes: "Plaster Geometry," "Still Life," "Plaster Busts," and "Plaster Seated Figures." Sketching is an essential part of plastic arts, serving as a crucial painting form for cultivating observation, analysis, aesthetic appreciation, and expressive skills. The subject matter of this volume focuses on commonly used plaster busts, which aligns with learning and examination content. The depicted objects primarily employ multi-angle, structural line drawings with contrast between light and shadow, facilitating quick, convenient, and accurate reference and analysis for beginners. This approach offers a certain real-time effect.
Through long-term teaching experience, I have found that beginners often overlook the volume of objects when depicting structural relationships, resulting in a flat appearance and a lack of three-dimensional spatial depth. Additionally, when portraying light and shadow relationships, they may fail to accurately represent the form due to neglecting structural precision.
Considering these reasons, we believe that alternating between different perspectives, structures, and light/shadow drawing methods for the same object during sketching or copying can achieve twice the result with half the effort, thereby enhancing sketching skills. We hope this volume can provide some assistance to.
