Features: The basic teaching of sketching in high school is based on its connection with undergraduate teaching in universities, and it is also recognized as the foundation of art. The cultivation of correct observation methods, ways of thinking, and aesthetic sentiments is the essence of sketching in high school. Sketching training focuses on cultivating students' keen artistic sense, requiring quick responses and concise expression. It demands both rigorous modeling and rich expressive language, ultimately achieving the teaching goal of comprehensive modeling skills. Sketching uses lines and shading to represent the form, structure, and space of objects. In the learning and research process, it is essential to first understand the relationship between the whole and the part and cultivate a correct holistic observation method. Secondly, it is necessary to establish a three-dimensional concept while also paying attention to the cultivation of artistic expressiveness and artistic creativity. The teaching arrangement should follow the principle of progressing from simple to complex, transitioning from plaster geometric solids and still-life drawing to plaster portraits and plaster terracotta portraits, and then from real-life portraits to half-body portraits with hands, forming a scientific teaching system. The teaching should be implemented in a step-by-step and orderly manner. In the early stages of teaching, emphasis should be placed on guiding students to clarify the basic rules of realistic representation, such as proportion, structure, shading, anatomy, perspective, motion, rhythm, and volume. In the graduation class, targeted short-term intensive training should be conducted around the basic requirements of the college entrance examination. Teachers are the main driving force in teaching, and high school teachers should emphasize a spirit of dedication, diligent research, and the exploration and study of scientific teaching methods. Tailored teaching, individualized instruction, and mutual exchange should be encouraged to the professional teaching atmosphere of the high school, creating more outstanding students for higher art colleges.
