Features: Shiyu Huapu (A Spectrum of Poetry and Painting), originally titled Cotang Shi Hua Yi, was compiled and printed by the Wang Family of Wanling in the late Ming Dynasty. It is a collection of Tang and Song Dynasty poems and ci (a form of Chinese poetry) accompanied by woodblock illustrations. The poems are mostly inscribed by renowned calligraphers, while the illustrations are imitations of works by masters from various dynasties, ranging from vast and desolate to delicate and elegant. The woodblock engravings are exquisite and fluid, free of stiffness. Published during the Wanli era, this book is an outstanding example of Huizhou woodblock art in the late Ming Dynasty. It is now being reprinted for readers. For convenience, author biographies are appended, and the layout has been revised to present the poem first, followed by its illustration, with one poem paired with one image, suitable for both recitation and appreciation.
