Czerny Piano Studies: Op. 299: Audio Version (Includes one CD)

Author: (Austrian) Carl Czerny
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2001-08-01
Features: While Czerny's etudes may not excel in melodic and harmonic progression in terms of artistic quality, from a technical perspective, they are rich and diverse, offering substantial practice value. As etudes for rapid playing, the primary technical challenge is undoubtedly speed. Determining a speed that meets practice requirements while aligning with the student's actual abilities is undoubtedly crucial. Since piano students vary in age, physical conditions, musical aptitude, and technical skills, teachers should fully consider each student's specific circumstances when setting speed requirements. It should be noted that previous editions often set excessively fast requirements, making it unattainable for most students. As a result, the tempo markings at the beginning of each etude have been overlooked by some teachers and students. In reality, establishing a reasonable tempo requirement is both necessary and possible. Based on years of teaching experience, the editor of this book has attempted to revise the original tempo requirements, approximately two-thirds of the original speed. The etudes are divided into four sets, with 10 etudes per set, totaling 40. When selecting etudes for students, teachers should not only consider the needs of technical training but also take into account their actual technical capacity. Etudes 16, 19, and 23, as well as those in the fourth set, are more advanced and can be practiced later. This book also provides concise technical hints for each etude and has made necessary corrections to the fingerings in the score, making them more convenient and logical. It is hoped that the publication of this Czerny Piano Rapid Studies will serve as a reliable teaching reference for students.
