The narrative technique of this novel is also somewhat unique: from the narrator's third-person perspective to the first-person perspective of the inserted text, i.e., transitioning from an external perspective to the internal focal narration of the protagonist. Through the progressive relationship of the narrative subject, it embodies a progressively deepening self-examination consciousness. In fact, the Pechorin in the author's mind is a portrait of his contemporaries, and he wanted to portray the personality flaws of this generation as a warning to the world.
