Features: Art is no longer a singular noun but a verb. For artists, experience is crucial, as significant experiences bring an impact on their personal perception of everyday and mundane life. In this book, you will observe a common phenomenon: art essentially reflects contemporary people's grasp of their own feelings. Within the rich, complex, and indescribable emotions of artists, you will see that the changes in the times first manifest in psychological shifts. Through their relentless efforts over the long term, they exhibit an undeniable perseverance, which is the essence of the human spirit. Art does not solve problems, but it can discover, raise, and even express them. In this sense, artists of every era reflect the spirit and modes of existence of their contemporaries.
The book Art, Life, and New Trends presents interviews with forty-one active artists in the field of contemporary Chinese art, as well as the experiences, journeys, and joys and sorrows behind their works. There are few writers in China today who approach interviews with such raw and sincere methods. The interviewer, Liu Chun, personally meets each artist amid the extremes of cold and heat, vastness and narrowness. Each article not only possesses academic depth but also firmly captures the unique characteristics and personalities of every artist. Every piece brings to life a vivid individual.
