Features: The TOEFL exam, whether in format or content, has broken through traditional exams. Many candidates who take the TOEFL simulation tests organized by our company report a lack of understanding of the TOEFL exam. The focus of this series is to provide candidates and readers with a comprehensive and specific understanding of the TOEFL exam. Through tutorial-style learning books, readers will become familiar with the requirements of the TOEFL in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the form of extensive exercises and tutorial lectures, it helps learners effectively improve their English proficiency. This book is divided into four chapters:
Chapter 1 introduces the TOEFL writing, analyzes the differences between TOEFL writing and old TOEFL writing, clarifies the guiding principles of TOEFL writing questions, the writing skills required by candidates for TOEFL, the scoring standards for TOEFL writing, and how candidates should approach the TOEFL writing exam.
Chapter 2 focuses on mastering language fundamentals. While guiding test-takers to propose ideas, enrich content, organize articles, and connect paragraphs, it also helps them use words and sentences to write correct language, thereby improving the overall quality of the article. The editors, guided by some effective theories and research in linguistics and language teaching, analyze the errors collected from students' writing over the years from three levels—vocabulary, grammar, and cohesion—to identify the root causes of the errors.
Chapter 3 is practical exercises.
Chapter 4 is simulation tests, including fourteen sets of TOEFL writing simulation tests for candidates to practice. An analysis and annotations of these simulation tests are provided at the end of the book for candidates to refer to during preparation.
