Features: As learners of English know, memorizing vocabulary is difficult, and accurately applying synonyms is even more so. Examiners in various tests often use the subtle differences between English synonyms to assess a learner's proficiency. In reality, for many students, the ability to use English is not hindered by anything other than the issue of synonyms. English has a vast number of synonyms, and they often differ in linguistic expression and usage contexts. Choosing the right words to construct sentences can make language vivid, accurate, and appropriate, often reflecting the learner's knowledge and expertise. Currently, there are dozens of synonym dictionaries on the market, ranging from concise to comprehensive, domestic to translated versions. However, few books are truly suitable for college students. To address this, we organized teachers from various universities across the country who have long been engaged in teaching to compile this synonym dictionary, aiming to help solve the long-standing problem of students struggling to choose and use synonyms. The dictionary carefully selects and analyzes over 900 easily confused synonym pairs from the vocabulary required for the CET-4 and CET-6, covering almost all synonyms in these tests. The explanations are concise, focused, and closely tied to numerous examples, primarily addressing the practical needs of college students.
