Features: At the end of 2002, the creative collective of "Exploration and Discovery" attempted to conduct a grand-scale cultural interpretation of China's World Heritage Sites from the perspectives of human geography and physical geography with a reverent, gentle, and simple heart. Thus, the 30-episode large-scale television series "World Heritage: China File" was born, marking the first time this had been done on China Central Television (CCTV). Nature and humanity have inscribed history in the layered traces of time, leaving behind the marvels of creation and the wisdom of ancestors. This is not only the legacy bestowed upon us by heaven, earth, and ancestors but also the heritage we must pass on to future civilizations regarding the evolution of the Earth and humanity. China, with 5,000 years of unbroken humanistic spirit, has never ceased to respect nature and reflect upon itself. As a result, the numerous natural and cultural landscapes that remain today still shine with the wisdom and diligence of the Chinese people. Through this series of documentaries, we have shown the world the charm of China's natural and cultural heritage while also deepening our understanding of cultural diversity. In today's increasingly globalized world, communication between different civilizations and the coexistence of diverse cultures are of great importance. There is an ancient Chinese saying, "Harmony breeds life; sameness leads to stagnation," which conveys a similar idea. Natural heritage and cultural heritage are witnesses to human history and important carriers of civilization. Cultural heritage reflects a nation's unique way of thinking and cultural values, serving as the foundation of a nation and a monument to history. Cultural heritage belongs not only to a country or a nation but also to all of humanity as a common treasure. The series of television programs "World Heritage: China File," with its keen and unique observational perspective, embodies profound cultural significance and holds significant aesthetic value in human geography. Since its premiere on January 3, 2003, the program received an enthusiastic response from viewers. Based on this, China Youth Press and China Central Television conducted multiple negotiations and communications, enduring 10 months to complete this panoramic bookwork on China's World Heritage Sites. This large-scale book will guide readers to delve into 28 of China's World Cultural and Natural Heritage Sites, exploring the secrets behind the physical geography and cultural landscapes. With an expansive panoramic vision and a grand narrative style, it presents readers with a magnificent picture of China's nature and history.
