Microsurgical Neurosurgery 2

Features: Due to various reasons, the publication of this book was delayed by 4 years. Therefore, from August 1, 1979, to December 31, 1983, an additional 355 cases were added. These newly added cases were included in the book to be compared with the previous surgical results, with the condition that all surgeons applied microsurgical techniques. Chapter 10 is the supplement for the statistics of this second part of cases. Regardless of whether there were improvements in neurosurgical care or anesthetic methods, the later group of cases showed significant improvements in surgical outcomes based on the surgeon's experience in handling ruptured aneurysms. Regarding surgical experience, personally, I believe that the experience grows over time as the first 100-200 patients undergo surgery, and the results also improve. However, after 200 cases of experience, skilled techniques no longer significantly reduce mortality. At this point, it is more important that the more experience a surgeon has, the better the selection of patients and the timing of surgery. Chapters 1-9 of this volume are a comprehensive analysis of 1,012 aneurysms from 1967. Chapter 1 is the general introduction, Chapters 2-5 are the surgical results of aneurysms in different locations, Chapters 6 and 7 are giant and multiple aneurysms, Chapter 8 is aneurysms treated non-surgically, and Chapter 9 is surgical complications. Chapter 11 is the translation, review, and general introduction.
