Publish Date: 2004-01-01
Features: This book is divided into five chapters: Chapter "Secret Techniques," Chapter 2 "Basics," Chapter 3 "Difficulties I," Chapter 4 "Difficulties II," and Chapter "Blind Spots." This book has three major features:
1. Vivid and detailed explanations. During the writing process, we thoroughly studied sample questions and made bold attempts in the methods of explanation.
2. Rigorous and flexible categorization. Although the background of the listening comprehension exam is primarily daily life, its content involves numerous fields such as politics, economics, history, culture, literature, psychology, society, and technology. The 349 listening questions present a giant picture of Japanese society before us. Our categorization of real exam questions is based on themes while also considering other aspects, aiming for rigor without being rigid, innovation without straying from the original, and comprehensive coverage without repetition—except for the real exam questions cited in Chapter "Secret Techniques." The rest are categorized by the 5W section, thematic sections, and special expressions.
3. The Appendix is highly valuable. This book summarizes and organizes interjections, final particles, colloquial sounds or abbreviations, keywords, and exam-level sentence patterns that appeared in past listening comprehension questions. It is attached at the end of the book in the form of an Appendix, and we believe it will greatly benefit our cultivation of linguistic intuition, enrichment of expression methods, mastery of oral skills, and improvement of communication abilities. Additionally, statistical analyses of the number of questions in past real exams, the average number of words per question, and the proportion of thematic sections are provided, which will help us grasp the patterns and trends of question-setting.
