Features: This book has been revised in the following aspects. Eight new exercises for the humanities section of the Level 8 exam have been added as Chapter 6. This chapter aligns with the new exam syllabus, featuring 160 practice questions divided into three areas: social and cultural of major English-speaking countries, British and American literature, and English linguistics knowledge. Answers and detailed analyses are provided. The content of Chapter 3, which focuses on classified practice for Level 8 rapid reading skills, has been condensed, and the rapid reading exercises in Chapter 4, which cover classified reading materials, have been removed. This decision was made for two reasons: first, although the Level 8 exam does not include a rapid reading section, the selection principles of the new exam syllabus explicitly emphasize the diversity of genres in reading materials, and Chapter 3 provides examples of various genres such as expository texts, advertisements, instructions, and charts. Second, the removal of the rapid reading section does not necessarily reduce the difficulty of the reading exam; on the contrary, the requirements for reading are now higher and faster. The content of Chapter and other parts inconsistent with the new exam syllabus has been revised, along with most of the content in the introduction to the English Level 8 exam. New content comparing the old and new exam syllabuses has been added, fully reflecting the spirit of the 2000 teaching syllabus and the 2004 exam syllabus.
