Features: To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of China's reform and opening-up, the Third Research Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's History and Compilation Committee held the "Deng Xiaoping and China's Reform and Opening-up Academic Symposium" in Wenzhou, Zhejiang. The symposium focused on exploring the initial phase of China's reform and opening-up and Deng Xiaoping's leading role in this historical process. More than 20 scholars from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China's History and Compilation Committee, local history research departments, and some academic institutions in Beijing participated in the symposium. This book is the collection of papers from the symposium, as well as the batch of achievements obtained from our ongoing research series on reform and opening-up. The 18 academic papers included in the book focus on exploring the initial phase of China's reform and opening-up and the leading role Deng Xiaoping played in this historical process.
