Features: This book is compiled based on the "Reference Vocabulary List" attached to the "Teaching Requirements for College English Courses" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2004, which covers all vocabulary for the new syllabus's CET-4 level. This book does not simply arrange and explain the syllabus vocabulary in alphabetical order, nor does it rely solely on traditional root and affix analysis as the only method for memorization. Instead, it follows the principle that English word memorization is multi-faceted and multi-angle, categorizing words into different groups based on their characteristics and placing them in distinct memory blocks for memorization using various methods. This approach not only avoids the monotony of memorizing A today, B tomorrow, and C the day after tomorrow, making word memorization both fun and challenging, but also allows students to effortlessly grasp the structure, difficulties, and key points of many words while memorizing their pronunciation, form, and meaning. It helps students understand the connections between words, solve puzzles, and efficiently expand their vocabulary.
The book is divided into eight parts, with the first seven introducing different memorization methods. Part is the root and affix forgetting method. Parts 2 and 3 are the meaning differentiation memorization method. Part 4 is the comparative memorization method. Part 5 is the transformation method. Part 6 is the segmentation memorization method. Part 7 is the classification memorization method. Part 8 combines previously introduced words using a method, with a specific word as the main stem, linking words together to form a "long vine," creating a memory line in the learner's mind through a "climbing vine" approach, and serving as the final comprehensive review and memorization.
