Features: This book consists of 16 lessons, with each lesson primarily composed of the following seven parts:
[]—This is the core and focus of the textbook. It is entirely composed of original conversational texts written by the authors. The writing principle is to adhere to the teaching method of prioritizing listening and speaking, with content that is close to daily life, practical, normative, and emphasizes oral communication. It combines practicality and application.
[]—This supplements [] to strengthen students' narrative and summarization skills, as well as to cultivate their ability to handle more complex conversations. Additionally, it appropriately increases the necessary vocabulary, grammar, and sentence patterns.
[]—Vocabulary is arranged in the order of appearance in the lesson, marked with tone symbols, part of speech, and definitions. The definitions focus on usage in the text, aiming for conciseness. To meet the vocabulary requirements of the education bureau's curriculum, some frequently used words that do not appear in the text are supplemented through sentence patterns, grammar, and exercises, and are included in []. The three sections [], [の], and [] in this book contain a total of 1,997 words, all of which are essential vocabulary to master.
[]—Grammar is explained and summarized in a way that introduces concepts as they arise and provides systematic summaries after some time. Grammar terminology and part-of-speech classifications follow the uniform terminology of the education bureau's curriculum, with annotations in some cases. Key Japanese grammar items such as particles, auxiliary verbs, adverbs, connectors, and honorific language are introduced, explained, and summarized. The grammar explanations reference and incorporate new research findings from domestic and international studies.
[]—Sentence patterns are explained from aspects such as meaning, form, connection, and Chinese translation, identifying patterns and providing typical examples. The book includes 99 sentence patterns, all of which are required to be mastered and flexibly applied.
[の]—This explains, summarizes, and compares difficult vocabulary, words with unique Japanese cultural backgrounds, easily misused words, words with similar meanings but different usages, and words with significantly different usages. It highlights key points to facilitate correct mastery and application.
[]—Exercises are an important means of mastering and digesting the learned material. Therefore, when designing and creating exercises, consideration was given to diversifying question types, coverage, and scientific rigor, aiming for a large volume and broad scope. These include grammar points, sentence patterns, vocabulary usage, and text content, with both written and oral exercises. For teaching convenience, the answers are appended at the end of the book. Readers needing exercise answers and audio cassettes should contact the Japanese Department of Beijing Second Foreign Language University directly.
At the end of the book, there are [] and [] for reference. The entire book is designed to be completed in 192 class hours.
