Features: This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of my father, Fu Baoshi. And it has already been 39 years since he passed away in 1965 due to a cerebral hemorrhage. In his brief life journey of 61 years, he achieved remarkable accomplishments. He engaged in creative work in various fields such as painting, seal carving, and art history research, earning worldwide recognition for his outstanding achievements. His strong patriotic spirit was also prominent among artists. As a result, he has not been forgotten. Especially in the past two decades, the name Fu Baoshi has frequently appeared in various media both at home and abroad, and the trend is growing stronger. I believe this proves that the truly valuable art created by an artist will not end with the artist's life. Instead, people will remember him and constantly feel his presence. This year, people have expressed their reverence and remembrance for my father through various means, such as filming a biographical documentary, publishing art catalogs and research books, holding a series of exhibitions both at home and abroad, issuing commemorative stamps, and organizing academic symposiums. All these efforts also aim to promote the lifelong spirit of "constantly renewing" of my father, thereby advancing the development of Chinese painting in the 21st century. The purpose of compiling and publishing this "Commemorative Collection of Fu Baoshi's 100th Birthday" is also for this reason. This collection gathers articles from dozens of authors, divided into two categories: "Commemoration" and "Research." Some of the articles were obtained from newspapers and magazines, which are very valuable for a comprehensive understanding of my father and have been included in this collection. However, the authors may not be aware that their articles were selected for this collection. We sincerely apologize for this oversight. This collection was made possible with the support and guidance of the Jiangsu Provincial Government, the Provincial Department of Culture, and the Jiangsu National Art Institute. It is also part of the commemorative activities for my father's 100th birthday.
