Features: "Study Abroad Garbage," along with the "flight instinct" that emerged in the late 1980s and the "emerging humans" of the early 1990s, has become one of the three major phenomena in today's Chinese study-abroad market. This book adopts the style of news reporting and the format of an investigative report, compiling reports on Chinese students from 16 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, etc. It reveals numerous shocking facts about "study-abroad garbage": such as "black study-abroad agents," "fake foreign universities," "visa corruption," "studying abroad without learning," "becoming illegal immigrants through studying abroad," "prostitution and drug use in study abroad," and so on. All the content in this book is well-sourced, either from the author's personal investigations or from influential media, making it objective and truthful. Every tragic story in the book, such as: "a middle school girl in Munich developing mental illness after being raped," "a student working as a sex worker in Japan's red-light district," "a U.S. court's 'six no-go' policy strangling He Jia," "thieves in Russia finding their mark on Chinese students," etc., is objectively analyzed to identify the root causes of the problems. This serves as a cautionary warning for students and parents who are planning to study abroad.
