It was meticulously compiled through the collaborative efforts of more than 30 renowned scholars and young and middle-aged in the field of pathophysiology from over 10 universities. The book selects pathophysiological topics closely related to clinical practice and scientific research, focusing on a detailed discussion of the hot issues, new perspectives, and recent advancements covered in the textbook. It is intended for use by graduate students and long-term students in medicine, pharmacy, and related medical disciplines, as well as for reference by undergraduate students, clinical physicians, and researchers. Since its publication, "Advanced Pathophysiology" has been in use for about 6 years and has played an important role in the construction of teaching materials for graduate courses and national continuing medical education. It has been recognized and appreciated by high-level students, medical workers, and colleagues. However, due to the rapid development of various disciplines, it is necessary to update knowledge and revise the book to meet the needs of readers. The revising team remains largely the same, but the content has been appropriately updated and supplemented. For example, "Cellular Calcium Signaling and Disease" has been changed to "Signal Transduction and Disease," and "Myocardial Ischemia" has been revised to "Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury." The book aims to illustrate signal transduction and disease using cellular calcium signal abnormalities as an example and to explain the mechanisms of "ischemia-reperfusion injury" using myocardial ischemia as a case study. Additionally, in the section on pathophysiology of various systems, a chapter on "Brain Function Failure" has been added, and in the section on tumor pathophysiology, additional content has been included.
